As the capital of Sichuan province in southwestern China, Chengus history dates back to at least the 4th century BC. Music is an important role in the impressive past of the Chinese city. Above all, the regular performances in the Sichuan Opera are very well known for their particularity.
In the middle of the city, the construction of the “City Concert Hall” is currently taking place. The old houses, built many years ago center must give way. The hall is finished and the demolition work is in full swing. The City Concert Hall consists of a large opera hall, a concert hall with a beautiful organ and a drama theater. To increase the natural reverberation time of the theater from 1.3 seconds up to 2.4 seconds, it was equipped with a VIVACE system. The drama theater consists of one level, without a balcony. Together with the electronic room acoustics system VIVACE, loudspeakers and microphones were installed. The special feature here is to bring energy to the room and to increase the EDT and the long reverberation time in order to create acoustic conditions that are perceived as natural.
